Introduction

Genmab is focused on the creation and development of innovative and differentiated antibody products, with the aim of improving the lives of cancer patients. 

The Principal Security Officer  will be part of a decentralized global security team and will have a regional and a global security role. The regional role is focusing on collaborating closely with the regional IT Business Partner and IT Program Manager in acting as a primary security point of contact and driving the definition of security requirements for regional business and IT projects and the verification of the implemented security controls.

The global role is focusing on security processes and controls for functional (Legal, QA, HR, Finance) and R&D Operations and Laboratory business domains. In this respect, the role will include responsibilities for the translation of (IT) compliance requirements into security controls and processes in close collaboration with the Senior Manager IT Compliance and the Quality Assurance and Legal department.

 

Primary Responsibilities

The key responsibilities for this role will be, but not limited to:

  • Act as a regional security partner for new developments, questions, and issues related to information security and actively maintain the regional IT and business stakeholder network.
  • Act as security partner for the NL IT Program Manager and perform security risk assessments and drive the definition of security requirements / controls for projects.
  • Actively promote information security and support security awareness activities on Genmab NL locations.
  • Acting as single point of security contact for functional business leaders (Legal, QA, HR, Finance) in support of updated or new business initiatives.
  • Driving compliance and security improvement activities by among others automating and standardizing processes and controls.
  • Supporting functional business domains in the execution of risk assessments and identification of security threats and risks.
  • Defining a security improvement roadmap for functional business domains.
  • Acting as single point of security contact for R&D Operations and Laboratory business leaders in support of updated or new business initiatives.
  • Driving compliance and security improvement activities by among others automating and standardizing processes and controls.
  • Supporting R&D Operations and Laboratory business domains in the execution of risk assessments and identification of security threats and risks.
  • Defining a security improvement roadmap for R&D Operations and Laboratory business domains.
     

Job Requirements

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or related technical field or equivalent work experience. Master’s level degree preferred. Furthermore, we ask for the IT Security Specialist to have the following experience and skillset:

  • Approximately eight years of demonstrable work experience in security officer / manager function with strategic / tactical responsibilities
  • Five or more years of management responsibilities, including strategy, budgeting and staffing.
  • Demonstrated experience in working in multinational organization and virtual teams, in particular in working in biotech or life science company comparable to Genmab.
  • Demonstrated experience of influencing key stakeholders across the organization and within complex contexts.
  • Demonstrated experience in setting up a (security) improvement roadmap and driving the implementation of corresponding actions and processes.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA or similar are required.
  • Excellent knowledge of security and risk management frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO).
  • Excellent knowledge of ICT technology (e.g. cloud, SaaS, network/server management) combined with an insight in threat actors and attack vectors.
  • Excellent knowledge and insight into (biotech) business and organizational processes; experience in working in a biotech or pharmacological company is a pre.
  • Excellent contact skills being able to communicate effectively with different stakeholders and to deal with the different interests in the organization
  • Excellent analytical, strategic conceptual thinking, strategic planning and execution skills.
  • Strong business acumen, including industry, domain-specific knowledge of the enterprise and its business units.
  • Ability to build consensus, making decisions based on many variables, and gain support for major initiatives. 
  • Strong soft and interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation.
  • Strong sense of self, ethics and effort, as well as the willingness to go the extra mile to achieve important goals.
  • Ability to develop colleagues including coaching, mentoring and performance management.
  • Good understanding of current and emerging Business Application technologies and practices, and how other enterprises are employing them
  • Experience tracking, measuring and communicating the quality of (security) services provided to the enterprise.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and technologies to business leaders, and business concepts to the IT workforce.
  • Strong knowledge of Office tools, mobile, apps, and other IT capabilities which would be expected knowledge for a senior IT role.
