IRM Subject Matter Expert (MS Purview)

MS Purview IRM Subject Matter Expert

We are looking for an experienced SME to support a MS Purview IRM. The SME should help run the program, manage stakeholders, and provide end-to-end solution guidance across data at rest, data in transit, and data in use. The role requires strong experience with Microsoft Purview EDRM and preferably DLP.

Objective:

Support our client in delivering an end-to-end MS Purview IRM / EDRM solution to protect Export Controlled Information and help ensure compliance across:

• data at rest
• data in transit
• data in use

The SME should not necessarily build everything from scratch themselves, but must be able to guide the solution end-to-end, coordinate work streams, engage stakeholders, and provide subject matter expertise on MS Purview IRM / EDRM, preferably in combination with DLP.

Core of the assignment:

The SME should be able to support both:

1. Program execution

• coordinate activities across workstreams
• manage stakeholders
• drive planning, risks, decisions, and dependencies
• support governance and reporting

2. End-to-end solution guidance

• help define the target solution from requirements through design and rollout
• advise on how Purview IRM / EDRM should be applied across data in use, rest, and transit
• connect business, compliance, and technical implementation aspects
• help ensure the different solution components work together as one coherent approach

Required profile:

• Proven  experience with Microsoft Purview Information Protection / IRM / EDRM;
• Experience with end-to-end solution design or guidance for information protection initiatives;
• Experience protecting information across:
  • data at rest
  • data in transit
  • data in use
• Ability to run and coordinate a cross-functional program
• Strong stakeholder management skills across:
  • Security
  • IT
  • Compliance
  • Legal
  • Business teams
  • Ability to translate regulatory and business requirements into a practical solution approach

Preferred experience:

• Experience with Export Control or similar regulated data protection domains;
• Experience with Microsoft Purview DLP
• Experience with:
  • sensitivity labels
  • encryption / rights management
  • policy enforcement
  • user adoption and operationalization
  • Experience in enterprise environments with multiple workstreams and dependencies
