Datacenter Engineer

For our client (a Biotech company in Utrecht) we are looking for a hands-on consultant with solid experience working physically in data centers, particularly with server hardware. The focus of this role is operational: someone who understands the physical side of infrastructure work, including racking, cabling, replacing components, and troubleshooting issues on-site.
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out physical work in our data centers, focused on server hardware.
• Be available one weekend per month (with prior coordination) for scheduled on-site tasks.
• Be on standby during weekends in case of urgent physical interventions.
• Follow strict documentation procedures in line with biotech industry requirements.

What we’re looking for:

• Proven experience working on-site in data centers and with server infrastructure.
• Comfortable with hardware-level tasks (installing, replacing, configuring physical components).
• Someone who understands that in a this environment, documentation, compliance, and process discipline are non-negotiable.
• Able to work in a structured, careful, and well-documented way—“just doing something” is not an option here.
• Experience with tools like Hyper-V, Commvault, and SCVMM is a plus, but not a must.
