About the Client

Our client is a globally recognized technology and innovation leader operating within highly secure and advanced IT environments. The organization develops cutting-edge solutions for critical industries and places a strong emphasis on security, compliance, and operational excellence within complex infrastructure landscapes.

Role Purpose

The Junior Secure IT Environment Officer supports the operation and governance of Secure IT Environments by executing defined operational, support, and review tasks under supervision. The role focuses on consistency, traceability, and adherence to approved procedures, contributing to secure infrastructure operations and physical secure environment support, including Secure Support Room (SSR) activities.

This is an execution-oriented role and does not include decision-making authority or ownership of secure environments.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Network Change Support

  • Support the review of infrastructure and network-related change requests (e.g. firewall rules, connectivity requests, access requests) against predefined standards and guidelines.
  • Assist in validating request completeness.
  • Apply documented feedback and follow-up actions to requestors where clarification or correction is required, under senior review.
  • Perform regular compliance reviews against predefined standards and guidelines.

Security & Compliance Assistance

  • Assist in ensuring infrastructure changes align with secure environment requirements (e.g. Restricted / High Secure environments).
  • Support evidence collection and documentation for audits and internal reviews by maintaining structured records and references.
  • Follow established escalation paths when deviations or policy gaps are identified.

Operational Coordination

  • Participate in recurring team operational meetings to track workload, handovers, and priorities.
  • Coordinate with infrastructure architects, security stakeholders, and service request teams to progress assigned tasks.
  • Support handover and transition activities by maintaining clear task documentation.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain and update operational tracking artifacts (e.g. approval overviews, follow-up lists).
  • Ensure documentation is clear, factual, and suitable for reuse by senior reviewers or auditors.
  • Avoid recording decisions outside designated systems, adhering to separation of instruction versus registration.

Scope & Boundaries

  • Works under supervision of a Secure IT Environment Officer.
  • Does not approve final architectural designs or policy exceptions.
  • Executes tasks based on defined templates, checklists, and review criteria.

Required Skills & Knowledge

Technical (Foundational)

Basic understanding of:

  • Network concepts (IP addressing, ports, protocols)
  • Firewall rule structures
  • Segmented IT environments

Additionally:

  • Familiarity with service request workflows and ticket-based operations.

Professional Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and structured working style.
  • Clear and professional written communication.
  • Ability to follow procedures and escalate appropriately.

Tools & Ways of Working

  • Service request and approval tooling (e.g. request tickets, approval matrices)
  • Collaboration tools such as email, Microsoft Teams, and shared documentation
  • Structured files and templates for tracking reviews and follow-ups

On-Site Presence Requirement

This position requires a minimum on-site presence of 4 days per week at the client’s Eindhoven location.

Depending on operational requirements (such as audits or holiday coverage), temporary full-time on-site presence may occasionally be required. Any increased on-site expectations will be communicated in advance.

This requirement is essential to support the operation of secure IT environments.

Potential Disqualifiers

  • Not willing or able to work predominantly on-site.
  • Preference for traditional IT Operations roles rather than governance/compliance-oriented infrastructure support.

Growth Opportunities

With experience, the Junior Secure IT Environment Officer may progress toward:

  • Independent review of low-risk changes
  • Broader ownership within infrastructure review domains
  • Support roles in audits, certifications, or secure environment expansion initiatives
