Purpose of the role

The BigID Implementation Engineer is responsible for the hands-on technical implementation and controlled roll-out of BigID within an enterprise environment. The role focuses on realising concrete use cases, setting up and validating an effective scanning strategy, and guiding the transition to Business as Usual (BAU). The engineer ensures a stable, high-performing and well-documented BigID implementation that is supported by the organisation.
 

Key tasks and responsibilities

•    Validating and fine-tuning BigID classifiers.
•    Rolling out, configuring and validating BigID use cases, including:

  • Data labelling
  • Access Intelligence
  • Remediation workflows

•    Designing, setting up and validating the scanning strategy, including:

  • Determining scope, prioritisation and scan frequency
  • Alignment with infrastructure, capacity and performance requirements
  • Validation of stability, performance and scan results

•    Integrating and configuring dashboards and reports.
•    Helping to develop the roll-out strategy.
•    Drafting and maintaining technical documentation, runbooks and configuration guidelines.
•    Training and supporting internal teams. 
•    Supporting the handover to operational management (BAU).

Technical qualifications

•    Demonstrable hands-on experience with BigID implementations within enterprise environments.
•    In-depth knowledge of:

  • Data discovery, Data Loss Prevention and data classification

  • Access Intelligence and remediation concepts

•    Experience in designing scan strategies for large data volumes and performance optimisation.
•    Experience with common data platforms such as:

  • SharePoint Online

  • OneDrive

  • File shares

  • Databases

 

Personal profile

•    Strong analytical skills, structured and practical approach.
•    Able to clearly justify technical choices, trade-offs and risks to stakeholders.
•    Experience with and an eye for handover to operational management (BAU).
 

Outcome of the role

A stable, validated and well-documented BigID implementation with working use cases, a supported scanning strategy and a smooth handover to the management organisation.
